A FOUL SMELL COMING FROM THE SEWAGE TANK ?
SADLY THIS CAN BE A COMMON PROBLEM WE ENCOUNTER AT ASHWASTE – A CALL FROM A NEW CUSTOMER SAYING.
“I have a foul smell coming from the sewage tank / I wonder what it could be? We have had a Sewage Treatment Plant installed but why is it producing such bad smells?
We were told that; It has a air pump and it is supposed to be producing a clean water sample. We understood from the builder who fitted it that it should be one of those systems that does not go wrong or smell.
We were told it does not need to be de-sludged. So we have NO IDEA why it is smelling so awful – Help!!!”
ASHWASTE CAN PROVIDE THE FACTS AND A SOLUTION
ALL Air Sewage Plants/ Septic Tanks/ Bio Units SHOULD have a VENT PIPE installed.
Why is this you ask? Well, it is needed in order to vent out the gasses that are produced by the air producing spores that build up in the tank.
ASHWASTE can install all ventilation pipes, they come complete with specialist CARBON FILTERS that reduce the smells caused by these tanks. You will also need to have your Sewage Plant de-sludged. This is because a lack of de-sludging will cause gasses to build up, this then results in the gasses travelling back up the pipes in to the property, and then they start to cause smells in the house.
If you already have a vent pipe, but are still getting smells, ASHWASTE can fit a CARBON FILTER, as this will reduce the smell. We can then arrange to de-sludge the tank.
If the builder who installed your tank told you that you will never need the sewage plant de-sludged, you should not believe it! Just in the same way that if you purchase a car and were to be told that ‘it never needs a service’! It is the same principle.
Remember ALL Sewage Tanks , Treatment Plants, Pump Stations ,WILL need servicing and de-sludging. How often will depend upon size, useage, etc.
