Commercial oil tank removal and disposal - how does it work?​

Here is an overview of how the commercial oil tank removal and disposal process typically works:

• Initial assessment – A professional environmental services company will examine the tank, its condition, and the surrounding area to identify potential risks and determine the best approach for removal.
• Obtaining permits – The environmental services company will handle the necessary paperwork and obtain the permits needed to proceed with the removal process.
• Tank emptying – A licensed contractor will pump out the contents of the tank while adhering to proper safety procedures and containment measures to prevent spills or leaks.
• Tank cleaning – After the tank is emptied, it needs to be thoroughly cleaned to remove any residual oil or sludge. This cleaning may include a brief, initial clean on site and then  they will be fully and deeply cleaned back at the depot, before responsible disposal takes place.
• Tank removal – The environmental services team will carefully excavate the tank from the ground, taking precautions to prevent any damage to the surrounding area. Heavy machinery may be used to lift and transport the tank to a designated disposal area.
• Disposal and recycling – Once the tank is removed, it is transported to an approved facility for proper disposal or recycling.
• Site remediation – After the commercial oil tank removal and disposal, the area is thoroughly inspected for any signs of leaks or contamination.
